Bonucci asks Morata to come and join him in Milan
Even by Italian football standards, the past few days have been one of the most dramatic in recent seasons when it comes to the transfer window. Milan’s capture of Italian international defender Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus has sent shockwaves around Europe as the Rossoneri take their summer spending up to €207M.
It looks however, that it won’t stop there either with Tuttosport now claiming that after being told he can have the captains armband at the club, Bonucci has called Spanish international striker Alvaro Morata to come and join him at the San Siro. The 24-year-old Real Madrid frontman had looked to odds-on to make a move to Manchester United this summer but the Red Devils ultimately opted for Belgian international Romelu Lukaku.
As he gets set to embark on Real’s summer tour of the US, Morata’s future remains uncertain. Chelsea are known admirers but as we reported earlier, they look to have designs on trying to convince Juventus to part with Gonzalo Higuain with Morata seemingly not convinced about a switch to Stamford Bridge.
Milan’s new Chinese owners mean business this summer and with the likes of Torino frontman Andrea Bellotti also being linked to the club, that €207M looks likely to be increased significantly before August 31.
