Bayern, Rummenigge: "The renewal of Lewandowski? There's no hurry"
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has told Sky Sports UK that the Bavarian giants are not concerned that they still haven’t tied down Polish striker Robert Lewandowski to a new deal at the club. The former Bayern playing legend and two-time World Cup finalist explained that; “Discussions have been going on over the last few days and sometimes the beautiful things come to those who wait. Once we have extended the contract we will make an announcement. We don’t need to make a song and dance about it”.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from Germany with Spanish giants Real Madrid one of the leading contenders to land the big Pole. The fact however, that Los Blancos are under a current transfer embargo, means that they will not be able to make new purchases until January 2018. Bayern in the meantime, remain confident that the player who has netted 52 times in 71 appearances, will stay at the Allianz Arena.
