Bayer Leverkusen forward wages demands potentially disrupt Premier League move

Bayern Leverkusen forward Javier Hernandez is demanding a huge sum in wages – a move that could put interested clubs such as West Ham off approaching the player, according to The Daily Mirror.

The forward is available for £13m – a relatively cheap buy for the Hammers considering his previous Premier League experience and goals for Manchester United.
But the 29-year-old is demanding a wage of £140,000 – which would see him become the highest paid player at the London Stadium, ahead of Geordie striker Andy Carroll who is on £100,000.

The Irons are in need of a striker, particularly one that promise goals, but the player has also caught the eye of teams like Tottenham Hotspur and American outfit L.A Galaxy. The east London side, though, are still trying to forge a deal for the Bundesliga player.
West Ham do have other possibilities. Burnley’s striker Andre Gray, 26, has failed to agree a new deal with his club.
