Agent of Darmian: "Inter have made enquiries. If he doesn't play we will ask for him to be sold"
After concrete interest from various clubs in the summer window before guarantees by new coach Jose Mourinho that he would play for his new-look Manchester United, Italian full-back Matteo Darmian looks likely to depart in January. Having made only one appearance for the Red Devils this season, in a Europa League tie against Feyenoord, his farewell to the club is imminent.
Speaking to Radio Crc, his agent, Fausto Pari, explained that; “We need to understand the situation with the directors at Old Trafford. Many clubs have shown interest in him but Manchester United has closed the door in their faces”. He added that; “There has been little chance of playing under Jose Mourinho and if we get to January and the situation hasn’t changed, we will look to go elsewhere. The boy understands that he needs regular first-team football to enhance his chances with the international squad.”
Inter have been keeping a close eye on developments with the 26-year-old and its widely believed that the nerazzurri will make a January assault for the former Torino man.
